What is DNA?
Everyone is born with a unique genetic blueprint known as DNA (Deoxyribonucleic Acid).  Because DNA is passed down from the mother and father to a child, DNA identification provides a conclusive way to determine biological relationships.

Who needs to be tested?
The Mother, the Child and the Alleged Father. ACCURATE DNA TESTING can accurately test without the Mother's sample, but this requires additional analysis and may take a few days longer to complete.

What kind of DNA samples are needed?
ACCURATE DNA TESTING prefers to use a cheek swab sample since it is completely
non-invasive, painless, and just as accurate as blood samples.

How accurate are the tests?
If the DNA of the Alleged Father and Child matches, the probability that he is the biological father is typically over 99.999%. If there are mismatches between the DNA of the Alleged Father and Child, he is 100% excluded from being the biological father.

What if the testing parties live in different cities?
ACCURATE DNA TESTING will arrange for all parties' samples to be collected in their respective cities at no additional charge. All samples will be coordinated as one case when they arrive at the laboratory.

Do I need a doctor's order to have a paternity test performed?
No, A doctor's order is not required for you to have a paternity test.

How long does it take to get results?
Once the lab receives all the samples, it typically takes 3-5 calendar days to complete the test. Next-Day and 2-Day RUSH tests are also available. Once the test is completed, a report is mailed or faxed to the tested parties.

Can I use the DNA test results in court?
Yes, as long as you choose a legally binding test where your samples are collected by an impartial third-party and follows the proper chain of custody. The report is a legal document that proves paternity or non-paternity.

Do tests have to be paid for all at once?
No, ACCURATE DNA TESTING allows you to submit samples provided that the collection fee is paid at the time of collection along with a minimum down payment of half the balance. You must pay the balance within six (6) months of collection. However, testing will not begin until the test has been paid in full. We recommend having your test performed as soon as financially possible so you can bring Peace of Mind to all parties involved.

What forms of payment does ACCURATE DNA TESTING accept?
You may pay with a cashier's check or money order, payable to ACCURATE DNA TESTING. If you visit our office, you may pay with cash. If you pay with a personal check, your results will be held until the check clears. You may also pay with a Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express credit card.

Can I get the test done before the baby is born?
Yes. However, the test is more expensive prenatally and does involve medical risk. The mother must have an obstetrical procedure (amniocentesis or CVS) to obtain a sample on the fetus. ACCURATE DNA TESTING will coordinate your obstetrical procedure with a qualified Obstetrician in your area at no additional charge.
